East Penn Manufacturing Company recently added an NC4 Module design to the company’s Deka Unigy II 2000 Amp Hour battery system. The new design features cells encased in individual steel jars, which facilitates easy and safe installation or removal in and out of the module. This unique design also allows airflow between each cell maintaining temperature uniformity for long life performance. The NC4 design is certified to NEBS Zone 4 requirements and IBC 2003 three-hundred percent seismic testing.
The NC4 module is available in 2 and 3 cell configurations providing versatility to accommodate footprint requirements. A new shield has been developed that spans over two modules, instead of one, for easier assembly and removal. For a more secure installation, the NC4 design comes standard with a one-piece base. It also has optional features including floor loading and securing plates for weight distribution and equipment mounting. In addition, the NC4 Module design is available on the new 1800 A.H. low gravity system.
The Deka Unigy II 2000 A.H. cell has one of the highest power ratings in the industry, and its “space-efficient” footprint makes it more adaptable to many new system configurations. It is especially ideal for the high power requirements in telecommunication and wireless applications. The NC4 module design, as well as all Unigy II products, are shipped at 100 percent capacity for optimum performance.
