East Penn Manufacturing Company recently added a 2000 Amp Hour battery system to its Unigy II Interlock line of stationary and telecommunication batteries. This new 2000 A.H. cell has one of the highest power ratings in the industry and is offered in a two-cell module that saves space while significantly reducing installation time. This “space-efficient” footprint makes it more adaptable to many new system configurations.
The Deka Unigy II 2000 A.H. battery system is especially ideal for the high power requirements in applications such as telecommunication switches and cellular sites. Its space efficient interlock module design is equipped with a standard one-piece Interlock base and meets UBC97 Zone 4 top of building requirements, certified to 8 modules high.
The Interlock Module design eliminates all rear bolting, offering a new, totally front access bolting feature for increased installation efficiencies and installer safety. The front shield has been designed to click “On and Off” easily without tools for quicker assembly. Advanced “two-way” cell posts provide easier connector assembly and optimized contact surface areas for a more rapid transfer of “back-up” power out to system loads. System maintenance checks are also much and faster with the “two-way” post configurations.
The Deka Unigy II 2000 A.H. system also comes standard with a catalyst vent. The specialized catalyst helps the battery maintain a proper float current, especially in higher ambient temperatures, by assisting in the recombination process for greater system reliability, performance and longer life.
All Deka Unigy II batteries are constructed using the finest quality materials and state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques and are known for their high reliability and superior performance. These space efficient “SpaceSaver” (TM) battery systems are ideal for a variety of applications including telecommunications, switch gear control, cellular radio, photovoltaics, railroad signs/communications and uniterruptible power sources (UPS).
