For a customer with a service territory ranging across eleven states, the batteries must be dependable to keep all systems running and ensuring service to its customers.
THE CHALLENGE AND CLEAR SOLUTION
Finding the right battery to provide uninterrupted power to millions of customers for one of the leading electric and natural gas providers in North America.
The power solution choice was Deka Unigy II absorbed valve regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries. This non-spillable minimal maintenance battery technology with UL94V0 rating offers optimal power and utilizes a smaller footprint to save space over flood technology.

THE RESULTS
The customer installed 3 strings of the Deka Unigy II product (240 2-volt cells). After nine years in a controlled environment, the batteries excelled, providing capacity ratings of over 112% at the 8-hour rate, and over 90% capacity for the 10-minute rate.
